Mickey Thompson Scavenger Headers ID
3 Attachment(s)
Trying to identify a set of headers believed to be for a early gto. Guy was moving and these were hanging in his basement. 13A is stamped on flange. The guy said he had a 64 Gto and never had a chance to use them. They are in real nice shape. Any help in identifying will be appreciated.

64-71 GTO is noted as #202-13 + 202-33 w/ 1-5/8 Tubes and 3" Collectors on this '71 M/T Scavenger List below. :beers: ~ Pete . |

Comparing yours w/ this Round Port set reported as 68-72 from this thread... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1237317 , tube routing appears similar other than 2'nd from front Driver's Side and Pass' front, likely for AC/Alt/Smog pump clearances but Cool is how yours appear way longer total length. So, possibly 64-67 or later if few accessories also longer length needs more investigating...maybe off-road pipes?:hmmm: Best of luck confirming what you have, M/T Super Scavengers are Super C:headbang::headbang:L! :beers: ~ Pete . |

I thought some of you might enjoy seeing my original set of M/T Super Scavenger headers for my 1967 L78 Chevelle SS back in '67 or '68. I installed them myself with the help of a friend. As I recall they didn't rub at all anywhere and the sound was simply spectacular! I believe I had to loosen a motor mount is all to get some clearance during the install.
Not too loud either with stock mufflers, but with a solid lifters HP Big Block there was nothing sweeter sound-wise! John |

Well, I was in high school, and I had to borrow money from my Dad to buy the car (and paid back every penny working at the local IGA and my uncle's Standard Oil Station), so they were likely not too much.....I'd guess $200 or so? Remember, my new '67 Chevelle SS cost $3,443 (delivered to the dealer), undercoating was a whopping $35, and my car's L78 engine option cost was a whopping $237 included in the above cost! LOL! So, the M/T's were cheap by today's standards. |
Oh, what we'd all give for a time machine....I'm listening to the Four Tops on Pandora while typing this :)
No better sounding header ever, IMO. |
Those are great! Would look killer on my '67 GTO :) :) :)
Hard to put a value on them but judging by my own experience selling Chevelle and Mustang M/T headers, I'd say anywhere from $800-1200. |

Here's a '68 M/T Super Scavenger Price List w/ early Part #'s courtesy of member Jon M. Although $179 may seem cheap, a fella'd be lucky bringing that much home a week in '68. :beers: ~ Pete . |
