1970 Only Rear Born With Speaker Covers Camaro Chevelle Nova Monte Carlo
4 Attachment(s)
Rare BW "Born With" Black Rear Speaker covers, One year only 1970 Design. In Mint condition with no cracks or warps and all the pole threads are not stripped. Comes with 8 bolts.
I did not sand blast these covers as they were in fantastic shape just needing a light coat of paint which I just did. $325 USD with FREE Shipping. |
Covers have just been *SOLD* in my Chevelle club.

Just as an fyi...there were 2 versions of these.
One version like you show and another version that had another row of holes. These can be found to have 4 holes between the studs and border instead of the 3 shown. These were seen mostly on Chevelles for whatever reason. I think in judging either is correct. |

Cool to point out though Thanks. |

Ironic that another club member just posted another pair for sale.
The pair has the 3 and 4 hole variants together. Pretty neat to see them side by side. |

Just restored once again for a owner of a special LS6 car with 4 speed bench seat with Gold Rivar Cloth interior.
Matched the color right on. |
The original one from my 70z is much flatter black. Maybe due to its age and being in the sun. They also were on the 71 Camaros.

They went to this grill starting in 1971.

Before I painted the one I sold it was also a faded black unit but I do point out I re painted it. Anyways what is interesting about this 3 or 4 hole scenario is even in NOS speaker kits they have both variations and I also checked my 40,000 mile original SS with AM 8 Track stereo never out of that interior and it has the 3 hole variant but I have also seen 4 hole on survivors. I have two NOS Rear Speaker kits in stock (See Photo) and one is 3 hole the other is 4 hole. NOS speaker covers were painted a neutral gray color. So what I have learned here is "Born With" assembly line 1970 Speaker covers along with NOS have the 3 or 4 hole variations and both are definitely correct for 1970 IMO |
FWIW I was curious and checked my original (pretty certain anyway, it was on there in 78 when I got the car) and it is a 4 holer. Early April build car.
