Interesting Vega conversion
1 Attachment(s)
I found this on Facebook and what looked like a fairly common V8 Vega swap got my interest when I saw the Kelsey Hayes Stripper wheels and Quadrajet carb. Could this possibly be a Dick Harrell conversion? I have never seen anything about them doing one and it could just be coincidence but the wheels and carb got me thinking. I cannot make out anything from the license plate nor does the logo look anything like DH used. Anyone have any input?

That looks like a 400!

Yes in fact it is.

Looks like a modified impala pan. The guy in front is smiling, obviously he has no idea what's ahead....or he knows this is someone else's baby after the camera shot.

Wish I knew who those guys were.

You're right on the money Rick as it sure looks like the below Harrell car I posted pics of previously in this thread... https://www.yenko.net/forum/showthread.php?p=1406403 :beers: ~ Pete . |
Hmmmmmm. Wonder what became of it. Thanks for the reminder photo. Same license plate as the photo I posted. Definitely looks to be a Harrell conversion.

I noticed the plate too and expect it's the very same car. The article on the linked page mentions the 'Velle also Camino were Gibb sourced cars so a good possibility the Vega was too.:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |
I wonder what rear end was under the car.

Pete, when Dave Libby was helping me document the 70 DH LS6 Camaro we found he mentioned that Harrell did at least 1 El Camino and a few Nova conversions. I do not recall him mentioning any Vega's but we were not talking about that body style at the time anyway.
