Kar-Kraft book
The book is off to a fast start polling 1st in auto/history and auto/racing on Amazon. If you're unfamiliar with the story of Kar-Kraft understand this, in 4 short years cars they built won Le Mans (twice), the Trans Am Championship, the NASCAR Championship and had successful cars in NHRA. They were also responsible for Boss 429 production and had there hands in a host of very impressive concepts and prototypes. It all came to a screeching hault in December of 1970 when Ford pulled out of racing. This will be one of those books like Motion Performance that will be worth a small fortune in 5 years. I have a good friend that grew up across the street from the Kar Kraft plant in Brighton. He was a youngster at the time and used to sneak across the street and check out the cars after dark. He said they would bring several car haulers in at a time and haul truck loads if them out for distribution.

Vern. The author at the time was in his late teens/early 20's. He shot some of the best art for the book as he was a fan of the cars as well.
In one instance, he was casually shooting the G7-A Can Am car when someone walked into the frame on accident. That person was Dan Gurney. All photos courtesy Charlie Henry. The book truly is one of the most incredible reads in the last decade related to the automobile. http://i63.tinypic.com/v3jc79.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/6r1oc6.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/2qn5zt2.jpg |
