1968 Ivy Gold vinyl
Does anybody on here have any recommended sources for 1968 Ivy gold vinyl material? Every place I've checked the shade is too yellow.

Ivy Gold..
An original Ivy Gold interior actually has a number of shades depending upon which trim piece you are looking at. It seems like a blend of gold and green...some things a little lighter or darker than others.
We have a complete 6,000 mile interior for our 68 L78 Nova...Ivy Gold cloth bench seat interior...the different shades are something to see. Maybe a color match could be done form original parts to create a paint/dye for a restoration?? -wilma |
I'm looking for Madrid vinyl stock for the seat covers. The rest of the interior is nice enough to leave alone. I can get NOS cloth for the inserts, which is a perfect match, however the "ivy gold" vinyl I have found so far is all reproduction and simply isn't close enough(not enough green). I found a few pictures of restored Firebird interiors with what looks to be a nice match, so I'll have to just keep looking. I can't imagine I'm the only one who has run into this issue.

Just trying to help . . .
Is this what you mean when you say they have too much yellow in them? Both are listed as 1968 Ivy Gold http://s26.postimg.org/67q62rn8p/download.jpg |
By far the hardest color to find. Like Tom said 3 different colors in an original ivy gold interior.

Better add 1969 Yellow interior to that list. Nobody makes it either...Joe

A little update on this. I found a PERFECT match of ivy gold madrid vinyl, from Legendary auto interiors. It's code 645G. They sold me enough yardage to have my seat covers stitched together with the NOS cloth. I'll post a picture when it's all back in the car.
