69 Muncie case stampings

So a guy sends me some pictures of a Muncie main case from a Baltimore built 69 Chevelle, and says this case has been on a shelf for a good 15 years.
I'd like to hear some opinions.

Well, you asked for opinions. That is all this is.

Never heard of a ZL-1 going in a Chevelle.
Trans has a drain plug, but the suffix (B) indicates M21, which would not have a drain plug.

My guess? The P9S05B (Muncie, Nov. 5, 1968 for the 1969 model year) and the partial vin may be legit.

Someone added the prototype and XX-00 - ZL 1.

Checked my list no info on that VIN, Chevelle was a 11B (Nov 68, second week) build. interesting, thanks for posting. take care, Andy

Bogus in my opinion. Assembly date stamp is ok.

Is that the only place the partial VIN is stamped?

I was told it was the only place the partial VIN was stamped

The Muncie stamp and VIN stamp both look very legit. Who knows on the ZL1 stamp.

Isn't it usually stamped next to the date code and not off of that flat surface along the edge where the date code is always stamped? I'm sure there are some anomalies though.

I have several in my data base for Baltimore cars with VIN's stamped next to the Muncie stamp, on the main case such as the above example and in both places at the same time. I think it just depended on who stamped the case that particular day.
