1968 Ivy Gold vinyl dye

I just bought a one owner 68 Biscayne project and will slowly be sprucing it up. It has an Ivy Gold interior with some very sunbaked soft trim. I'm wondering if anybody on here has any recommendations for vinyl dyes. I will also need the gold paint used on the metal parts, specifically the top of the dash. Looking for both quality and color match and appreciate any help.

I've used SEM vinyl/plastic products in the past with good results ... follow instructions closely -- TAZ

IMHO.. there is way too much gold and not enough green in the ready mix spray cans sold by the resto houses. Some of the hard trim was closer to that tint, but not all. The dash had more green in it much like the dash pads. Very tough coor to get right.

----I was just looking into Sem for a 67 Chevelle goldish color and there are very few metallic Sem colors. I'm going to have to have mine custom mixed. Hope you don't have to.....Bill S

I agree Bill, that's the best way to get your desired match.

I've had very good color matches for my vinyl interior parts done at the bodyshop near me, Nostalgic Autobody.
I suspect most any good shop could do the same.

I guess I'll take a few of my decent pieces down to a paint shop and see what they can do. I won't settle for a poor color match. Thank you for all the replies.

Try to match as close to the color on the back of the plastic trim as possible to get original look... Very few of the color interior parts matched perfectly, Super Car Workshop did a 68 Harrell Nova with blue interior a while back and I do not think any part matched in blue... the arm rest bases didn't match the steering wheel didn;t match the dash pad etc. That is how they actually looked. Ivy Gold interior is one of the most difficult to get correct I will grant you that!!!

I'm not very concerned with the different materials matching, in fact the contrast is a good thing. But I would like all the metal stuff to match other metal, vinyl to match vinyl and the same for plastic. Hoping to maintain as much originality as possible.
