1970 LS-6 Chevelle N.O,M. with the Buildsheet-SOLD
I have owned this car since 1995. Car was built at the Atlanta plant, sold in mcconnelsville, Ohio at Bill Janes Chevrolet (xxx customer ordered car by Terry Johnson)I have the complete build sheet for the car and the car is in the LS-6 Registry. Terry Street raced and owned this car for three years. He stated that he met a mechanic that worked at a local shop and could get him 500 HP from a 396 that he built, so terry took out the cars original engine and replaced it with the 396, car never ran the same so he wound up trading it in for a corvette in 1973.Terry told me that he continued to see the car around his area of Ohio for about two more years. Car came to Calif in 1975. I don’t know who owned the car from 1975 to 1980. In about 1980 the car was sold to a girl, she owned it for about five years before selling it to ( ) he owned it for about 3 or 4 years before selling it to ( ) who owned it for about 2 years.
Then I bought the car in 1995. I have managed to track down and talk with just about every owner except the one that owned it from 75 to 80 and I still have their contact info. Car is missing its original engine, transmission and rear end, (however the original block popped up on team chevelle about ten years ago)it currently has a #289 crr coded crate LS-6 engine with the correct deep groove pulleys, fan stock exhaust manifolds, exhaust system, date coded spark plug wires correct date coded holley carb ect.. it does not have the correct distributer, alternator, starter or date coded radiator. The M-22 is a Jan coded unit with no vin number. The rear end is a later date coded 355:1 Posi (not an LS-6 rear) The car had a body off resto about 13 years ago utilizing a lot of NOS parts, restored original parts and correct fasteners (there are very few re pop parts on this car) for instance except for the hood the entire front clip of this car (even the bumper) is NOS. I have a list of all of the NOS parts used, even have some of the tags still. The car has approx. 3500 miles on it since the restoration and runs very well and strong. Paint is still about a 8.5 on a scale of one to ten. Has about 5 small dings but still shows well. Black bench seat Interior is nice with original door panels and a back seat, original shifter, AM radio. The car only has one option and that is the cowl induction hood .Cranberry red /black stripes. This car would make someone an excellent driver or if you could locate the original engine ( I have the gentleman’s name that had it for sale ten years ago) it still has some equity in it. $50.000 or best offer, may be interested in selling it without the engine. Phone number 831-540-4310 SOLD Thank you |
