1987 Mustang GT 5.0 Hatchback
This 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 Hatchback is a 3 owner car that has lived the good life. The car has never been smoked in, and has always lived in a climate controlled garage. The car has NEVER seen snow and has only seen rain once. The paint is 100% original, with a paint meter showing all original paint thickness. The only paint blemish is small area on the front bumper below the headlight. The turbine wheels are incredible.
The only non-stock item is a Hurst shifter for the 5-speed manual transmission, and the original shifter is included in the sale. The Ford AM/FM cassette player is in good working condition and all lights, gauges, and accessories work well. Interior options include a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, power mirrors, and power lumbar support for the driver’s seat. This Mustang was ordered A/C delete. The car has 33,346 miles. We had a few local Fox body Mustang experts look over the car....and they said that this was one of the nicest & most original 1987 GT Mustangs that they have ever seen. Re: 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 Hatchback
Harder to find one of these in this condition than it was to find '69 Z/28s in this condition 20-25 years ago.

Re: 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 Hatchback
Wow! Beautiful. There aren't many of these left in such nice original condition. I wish I could talk the wife into letting me pick-up another toy. :(
Having Graduated high school in 1989, I have been feeling a bit of nostalgia lately for the 5.0/IROC/Trans Ams of the era. |

Graduated in '96 and bought a 98 SS Camaro in 2002 and then later sold it.. Wish I had her back now.. GLWTS. These are very rare in this condition. |
Re: 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 Hatchback
Good ones are getting rare, I should know, bought a new complete stripper 88 5.0 LX, brought it home from the dealership and ripped it apart that day (mass air kit, pulley kit, exhaust, shifter) Father thought I was nuts, and he was right. Buttoned it all back together and was street racing it that night. Great racing between the 5.0s, GNs and IROCs. Not terribly fast, but evenly matched and fun! Actually thinking of picking up a 5.0 LX conv soon, they are still relatively cheap and a ton of fun

I would love to pick up a 89-90 1LE Fbody. Or a Notch back Saleen. |
Re: 1987 Mustang GT 5.0 Hatchback
Of the short list of respectable muscle type cars from the 1980's the 5.0 Mustang is the most important/influential of them all.
The Buick GN and TURBO TA were also good cars, but just look at all the dedicated magazines, race classes such as Pro 5.0, and the wave of speed parts that was offered in the 10+ years after the 1987 5.0 Mustang revolution! Don'Don't think I'll ever see anything like it again in my lifetime. It was magic! Good luck with the sale. There should be plenty of 40 somethings lining up to buy this car. |
