I talked to J. Pirkle 2 weeks ago and he is currently not doing any work at all. He told me he is looking for a permanent job that actually pays the bills. He is not sure if he will even be coming to Corvettes at Carlisle.

Sorry to hear Pirkle is giving it up.

I looked through old threads trying to find the same answer. Pirkle was one who came up but turn around was really slow.
another said Bruno was slow too and grumpy.

I found these 2 recommended by members of this site. I'm still trying to figure out what to do.

Kuhn Auto Electric
Al Kuhn

AM-FOR Auto Electric
Souderton, Pa.
Jim Gill 215-723-4877.

Jonesy, I'm not defending Ken because candidly that perception is only derived from his customer's experiences but I've done thousands of dollars of business with KB and only had one issue which we worked through together as mature hobbists. Since then (5 years+ ago) we've never had a problem and I confidently recommend his work regularly. He, like many other car-crazy entrepreneurs in the restoration business, are a one man show. His product is fully functional both mechanically and on the show field.

Good luck.

Believe it not, I used a local place in NJ, Edison Generator. They don't do any case finishing, other than paint, but I had them put in a higher amp rating. Took the 37 amp to 70 or 80 Amps. They are an old school shop, so I am sure they will work with you if you want to do the case finishing a certain way. It was around $125 - $150, pretty sure.
