Tin Soldier COPO Camaro - 4,XXX original miles
 

The “Tin Soldier” is a combat veteran COPO 9561 ordered, built and campaigned by renowned privateer Ron Terrell.

There are very few “Supercars” of any brand out there that have the history, race pedigree and bulletproof history of Tin Soldier. Tin Soldier campaigned against some of the most well-known cars of the day such as the “Soul Survivor” L89, “Herbies Hugger” and many, many more. Multiple class placings and wins up till 1985.

Ron Terrell, the original owner of Tin Soldier is still with us and has authenticated this COPO as well as McNeish, as the original Tin Soldier COPO, and an original Red/Black 4 speed X-44 car.

Ron worked his whole adult life for and retired from GM, much of it in the Norwood, Ohio plant. This is the only COPO in existence that the original owner had a hand in on the assembly line, where at least one component as Ron says “fell on the car” during that process.

The firewall and all stamps are original and born with to this car. The rear has been tubbed and the subframe has been extensively engineered, modified (dropped and centered) and customized by Ron himself back in the day.

The Tin Soldier only has 4,XXX Original Miles, most of its Original “Born With” Interior, sheet metal and never any Rust. It still has the upside down 427 chalk marks from the factory. Like most of the successful combat veterans, Tin Soldier has had some transplants through the years. None of the driveline is original, but just about everything else is original, and with less than 5,000 Miles, all ¼ mile at a time!

In 2013, the Tin Soldier won 1st in its class in the nationwide attended Camaro Nationals! Since then, the Tin Soldier has consistently won several smaller show as well.

The Tin Soldier has been gone through and enjoyed a few race days at the track with my son and his 2015 Camaro, the Tin Soldier IV (Ron still campaigns the TS II and his son Jason, the TS III). Tin Soldier needs nothing, and has no known issues. No rust anywhere (ever) and as I said above, recently tuned up and gone through. Valves adjusted, timed out for low altitude and fuel system checked out.
