https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...ngplatetop.jpg https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...partnumber.jpg I've been told that these are 1967 Camaro bottom spring plates. Are they? If so are they original GM or reproduction? Where the original GM installed versions phosphate plated or painted? |
Re: 1967 Camaro Bottom Spring Plates
Your plates are identical to my original 67 Plates. Same part number and stamp location on the LH side.
RH close-up not shown for a comparison. Finish looks like Black phos. But not sure unless I strip them of the black paint. |
Re: 1967 Camaro Bottom Spring Plates
Thanks for the info. These are for sale locally and the pictures are from the vendor. I thought I might pursue them because they look really nice but I wasn't sure whether they were reproduction or not and what the finish is supposed to be. Good reproductions are okay. The ones on my car are rusty (not bad) and from what I can tell they've never been off. Hard to tell on mine what the finish is. From what I've seen on my car, which is very original (owned since 1978), some of the parts that people paint black are actually gray phosphate such as engine pulleys so I thought this finish could be original.
