Had fun at Kil Kare tonight (just spectating)
No, I didn't take the Chevelle out there...yet. (I still need to get a few small items addressed before they'll let me run--driveshaft safety loop, puke tank, and a brain bucket.)
That said, here's a couple of videos from tonight. #1: White Monza sedan. We followed this one in the last time we were here a month or so ago. It ran 9.90's that day, the best I saw tonight was 10.0's @ 130+ http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...pswe6azqoe.jpg 4.70 index Ford Probe. There were several 4.70 cars there tonight getting some test hits in. They didn't announce the 1/8 mile time on this pass, but he lifted just past the 1/8 and coasted to a 7.54 @ 120. On a subsequent pass he ran a 4.50. Must be nice to have .2 in the bank on a 4.70 car. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...psmbbmrkt6.jpg Mystery racer. Clues: Green `69 Camaro, big block, 4 speed, Cragars all around, been known to hang out here now & then. http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d7...pspjg2xx8v.jpg More next week, weather permitting. Might be more Kil Kare, might be another local cruise-in, who knows. |

Would the "Mystery racer" be our own Copo Cartel? Looks to be about the right times for the green Hugger.

Forgot to mention in the first post that the Monza drives to & from the track.
Sam.....mmmmm.....could be..... Don't know if he wants any info divulged or not, don't want to let any cats outt'a the bag. |

Hi Eric. It was great seeing you. I will give you some notice next time we head your direction.....Sammy ...we are shaking the car down....4 speeds , air pressure, launch RPM ...you know the drill. We did have some success and found out a few things the green machine likes . Stay TUNED

Great to see you out there too Doug.
There was definitely some very fast iron out there, but there was nothing on the grounds that could top that Green Camaro in the "cool" factor. Even people in the stands around me were commenting every time you came to the line. Make sure to let me know the next time you're coming out this way. |
Re: Had fun at Kil Kare tonight (just spectating)
Absolutely will do Eric. Glad to see you out and about. Not to many people at the track realize it's a Copo car. Lol

Looking forward to it.
Hopefully I can get the Chevelle out there before long. I'm gaining more & more confidence in the car but I'm still a little antsy about driving it out there until I have some more time on it, and I only have one friend with a trailer available but he works 12 hrs a day 7 days a week so that's not going to be any help. |
Re: Had fun at Kil Kare tonight (just spectating)
I know you ....it will happen.

Re: Had fun at Kil Kare tonight (just spectating)
Went to Kil Kare again today. Just spectating again.
Got there at 5:15. By 6:30 there was an oil-down in the left lane (from the line through the traps) that shut the track down for 45+ minutes. Next pair of cars go down at ~7:15. A few more pairs made it down after that. Not even 10 minutes later a truck apparently popped off the top radiator hose just after the 60' clocks in the right lane. Antifreeze spewing EVERYWHERE...could see a geyser spraying all over the top of the left front tire. By now everybody and their grandmother knows that when your rig breaks, you pull off to the side and get stopped as quickly & safely as possible. Not tonight...tonight was 2 for 2. Rode it out & spewed it all the way down the track. We left before 7:30. |
