Block casting 618 build plant
I recently read on CRG that 618 cast blocks for 1969 Camaro were cast at the Flint plant. My car has a 618 cast with a Tonawanda stamp on the front pad. Does anyone know if 618 blocks were possibly cast at Tonawanda?

Is the pad stamp on your block a Camaro application code?

Yes, HA(4sp). Date is several weeks prior to production date provided by NCRS.

Do you have a picture of the stamp?
Does it have the lifter galley plug above the timing cover? The square shaped plug to the right of the stamp pad.... https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-4...2/PICT1098.JPG |

It does not have that plug. I was under the hood at 11pm last night looking for it:) I will post pic soon.

Re: Block casting 618 build plant
If it doesn't have the plug it was machined at Tonawanda and many HA's were built there, I've got 2 in my own collection.
