I have a set of these valve covers as well. These are over the counter replacements. They are more polished than the original dull aluminum. Also the cutouts for the intake manifold are larger than production 302 or LT1 valve covers. I bought mine from Chevy in 78-9.

There are at least three different ones. For a short time (late 69 & early 70) I believe the assy line ones had drippers and the larger cut outs for the manifold. They were not polished like the over the counter ones.

I posted pics of all three styles a couple years ago.

Congrats Charley.

I should have said "short" cut outs in my post above.

Can't find the post. I think it was in reference to a very late 69 that Fast Eddie was restoring. Car came with satin valve covers with short cut outs and WITH drippers. I was diaassembling a 69 L46 (Corvettes also had an extended run in 69) with the same set.
