1970 Trans am e-brake equalizer spring?
 

Anyone have a picture of the equalizer spring for a 70-74 F body. I have the diagram from inline tube but just trying to figure out how it installs? I'm guessing the e-brake cable goes through the spring, one end hooks to the floor support.? But from the picture it hard to tell how the spring attaches to the u bracket that hooks to the cable that goes to the rear wheels. What is the purpose of the spring? A picture will most likely solve my issue.

I do not have a photo of a 70 Trans Am but do have of a 70 Z28 and would imagine they are similar. See the upper right of the photo. Sorry but this is the only shot I have that shows that area. Sorry if this did not help. Steve may have a better photo.

Thanks that's just what I was looking for. But not how I thought it was hooked up lol. Camaro and trans am should be the same. I only looked at the e-brake kit I bought saw the spring and knew I had to research it. I thought I only saw a hook on one end of the spring? I see the one end hooked into floor brace where does the other end attach? Sub-frame? Does the spring go through the u shaped bracket that holds the cables? What is the purpose of this spring?

The other end should be wound like a coil spring and with something like 4 or 5 coils if I recall. You will have to "wind" this end over of the cable. Make sure it is in front of the crimped on cable stop (towards to the front of the car). I believe this helps in returning the pedal but I am not positive on that. To my knowledge the spring is independent of the bracket and does not go through it.
