Screwed up
Off topic Question here. I have a NH farm tractor and changed the antifreeze today. I always use distilled water/antifreeze mix but for some reason today I forgot and used regular tap water even though I had 2 gallons of distiled water on the workbench. Tractor has a aluminum radiator.
\ Should I flush it out and replace? I put about 60 hours pr year on the tractor and replace the antifreeze every 2 years. I plan on keeping this tractor forever and don't want corrosion problems or blocking of rad passages.. BTW our water is very limey and full of chemicals...more than other locals. Or should I just run it and change it out next year. Thanks . |

Personaly, I think it would be OK. There are corrosion inhibitors in the coolant and as long as it is changed, say every 2 years, it should not pose a problem. It is old coolant that breaks down IMO that is more destructive to the radiator and block. |
