Re: 1968 GT/CS Original Paint Survivor
You're probably right. No sign of being in the wet. Wheel wells are very clean. None of the usual gunk wedged in the underbody. One of the cleanest bodies I've seen.

This looks like a real "honest" car and has me wishing that my stable bigger to bring this one home. I like the pony cars with another pedal for shifting but nicely represented!

Re: 1968 GT/CS Original Paint Survivor
Once people figuire out these cars were designed and built by Shelby, they will no longer be affordable.
Cleanest body of any car I've seen. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...964-floor1.jpg This is how Ford painted the Rockers: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...17965-65z4.jpg Clip holding fuel sender wire above gas tank: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...17966-clip.jpg Original pop-off gas cap-GT/CS only: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...7-dsc09547.jpg |

Re: 1968 GT/CS Original Paint Survivor
Shelby was no longer technically "building" cars for the '68 Model Year. Shelby's were now built by Ford.

Re: 1968 GT/CS Original Paint Survivor
From Wikipedia:
Shelby automotive and the GT/CS: Shelby Automotive, now part of Ford, was assigned the task of designing and engineering the necessary parts and assembly procedures for the GT/CS. This was done right alongside the development of their 1968 Shelby. The fiberglass parts were crafted at A.O. Smith, in Ionia, Michigan, in steel molds. |
