Re: 1965 Chevelle L79
This car is turning out great. At first Barry wanted to paint the car but I talked him into leaving the old acrylic paint and just give the car a buff and detail. The paint is all cracked and checked with a couple of dings here and there but from 10 feet it looks like glass. If you seen that bumper before you wouldn't think it was the same one. The car is going to have a lot of patina with a little sleeper L79 with 4:10s in the rear.

Re: 1965 Chevelle L79
Updating what I thought was correct until I found this in the packet from Kim Howie where he had the 5th owner of this 1965 Chevelle L79 write down all about what he knew on the car since he was related to 1st owner who got killed in hunting accident about 8 months after buying the car new. All owners were from same area were friends and the 5th owner Jerry Doolitle (cousin to 1st owner) who bought car 9-14-1973 and owned for 32 1/2 years until Kim Howie bought it as found. The 2nd owner Steve Romsey had car painted Black Pearl by man named Wayne Larson in 1969 and showed car at show in daily driven class took 2nd place. So the paint is from 1969 and still in great shape since it was in a heated garage all those years even though it sat until found. Jerry drove the car with his cousin in April 1965 with only 27 miles on the car. He just had to buy the car back from his friend in 1973 since it meant so much to him. Sure is a great survivor car and great story looking better the more Jason does cleaning car up and putting all the parts back on that were there with the car all those years. A lot of the original license plates were behind the 1986 plate that was on the bumper of the car when Jerry parked it including this 1972 plate on the bottom. Keep up the great work Jason it looks so nice and will be a great nostalgic car to take to shows that will draw attention. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...om_owner_2.jpg
