1970 Chevelle Upper A-Arms
What is correct on a 70 Chevelle upper A-Arm as far as the shaft goes.
My 69 Chevelle and 69 Camaro have bolts retaining the shaft to the upper A-arm. The upper A-arm that came off my 70 Chevelle had bolts as well. The car has been apart before so I just want to make sure it's correct before I assemble everything. I am seeing two different types, is it correct to have nuts on the ends of the shaft that goes through the A-arm, or is it a female type end with a bolt that holds everything in place? This pic has a bolt securing the ends of the shaft(this is what is on my unrestored 69 chevelle and restored 69 camaro): https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...9800-shaft.jpg This pic shows the other option and it has a nut securing the ends of the shaft(this pic was taken off a parts supplier website. I know for sure that GTOs have this type of setup: https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...pper_a_arm.jpg The pictures aren't great but should help. |
