Feds told GM to drop pontiac

Re: Feds told GM to drop pontiac
Run a business into the ground and you should fail..."Period." If investors believe in what you're doing, and bet you will profit in the end, they'll save you. It's exactly what happens every single time the government interferes. My corporate health care premiums went up 43% last month.....can't possibly imagine why......

That's not what I heard from Jim Mattison today. He didn't mention anything about that.
The things you see and learn at MCACN! https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...2-100_5566.jpg Not my car...just thought I would post a random MCACN pic in the thread. |

Re: Feds told GM to drop pontiac
The government should have never given the bailouts to begin with. Everybody got all warm and fuzzy about saving jobs, but really all the bailout did was save shareholders and banks. If the entire company went belly up,it would have been reopened as a new brand(s) and been stronger then ever. People were willing to buy American made cars again, and GM finally got labor costs under control by moving jobs down south and to Canada and getting out of the rust belt. Without the debt and legacy cost,it would have been a prime investment to buy up all the assets including the names. The cars could have been sold for even less, and the workers paid more, and dividends would still have gone up. he only loosers to his would have been the banksters and investors.

This story came out about a month ago, and it's really Bob Lutz's opinion that the government forced GM to shut down Pontiac.
While I admire Lutz, I think he's stretching things a bit here. |
