1955 Chevy gasser, as found

I am selling my 1955 Chevy gasser, I have decided that I have too many straight axle cars, I also want to get to cars that I can street drive daily. This is a very cool car that I have had for about 5 years. It was and is a barn find, it was at the MCACN show last year. It was found in Mazon IL, it had been parked since the builder quit racing in the early 70's. The car runs and drives, it is not street legal, it is a gutted 60's gasser. I have the title from 1967 in the envelope from the Secretary of state. The motor is a 65 327 with 12 1/2 pistons and a big roller cam. It has the early Edelbrock tunnel ram with 660 center squirts. Real Mickey Thompson scavenger headers. m-20 4 speed and a olds rear end with a 4.86 spool (or maybe welded spiders). Tilt front end home made roller bar and rear bumper. This car is a beast. I am listed it here because I do not want to sell the car to some who is going to change it or try to restore it. The car is what it is, a piece of local 60's racing. I did install a new Mr gasket fuel pump, the old Dupree pump was dead. I am posting a picture of the car from a local 1970 parade in Mazon il, and also current pictures of the car. I would like to get $20,000 for the car, I am willing to work with members. The most important part to me is the car stays as it is. The car is in Joliet Il. I am not real good at the posts, so please ask me any questions for information that I have missed, and I know i have missed something.
Thanks Dan

This is indeed a really cool and very authentic car. It was a HUGE hit at the inaugural MCACN Barn Find/Hidden Gems display! Dan, the owner, is one of the "good guys" too.

Thanks guys.

I am also interested in trades, either up or down. I love this car, but I would like something I can drive to cruise nights or to the home depot.

Real Deal Gasser for sure! I've seen so many modern builds in the last several years...I think this is the only genuine car with race history I can recall seeing in quite a while. It was certainly on of the highlights of last year's show. Good Luck with the sale Dan!
