For the Bodymen

How the heck do you get the metal scrap out of a spot weld bit??? I've gone through 5 and they keep clogging up.

Re: For the Bodymen

The ones I use have a spring loaded center that hold the top panel while you drill out around the spot weld. It never gets up into the bit..

Any tip on where to get those? Only place I could find them local was China Freight...

This one only says ...made in the USA. It's 3/8 in dia. Center punch the center of the spot weld and it cuts thru like butter. Drill speed is king, run it slow. I believe I got it thru Grainger or McMaster Carr. They do come in different diameters, I had one with interchangeable cutters, kind of like a Starrett hole saw set.

x2 2 on Rotobroch cutters, you can buy individual size cutters several places. Stay away from the light duty Blair hole cutters, not enough beef and they bust easily.

And try this stuff too, awesome... Boelube paste on your bits, google Boelube, aviallable lots of places.

Yup, ordered the Rotabroach Master Kit. Thanks for the Boelube tip. Have some sub-contracts with Boeing so I guess I could give them some $ back........

Re: For the Bodymen

Well, the Rotabroach 3/8 lasted for about 15 cuts (using Boelube) before the teeth broke, which isn't so bad.....ordered more bits...

Re: For the Bodymen

I wish I knew who made mine....Lasted a hell of a lot longer than 15 cuts, gotta be in the 100's. Notice how the cutting edge is more like a end mill not a hole saw.. I'm at work and I'll try to find who we got it from.
