Re: 1966 12 bolt 4.10 Gears
Is it common for a ring to be dated 1 month prior to the pinion? I thought they both would have to be dated the same for the dates were for when the set was machined & matched together. I'm just trying the learn something here. The set looks to be in excellent condition for being used.

Re: 1966 12 bolt 4.10 Gears
Bill, I don't know the answer to your question but I do know they came off the 4 series carrier that's currently in my car now and that the guy I purchased them from took them out of his '68 Camaro and replaced them with a 3 series carrier/gears.

Re: 1966 12 bolt 4.10 Gears
I have seen the dates differ by 1-2 months on the ring and pinion. As long as the gears are lapped together they will work...so the gear works guys probably just pulled the semi finished gears from whatever stock they had.

Re: 1966 12 bolt 4.10 Gears
I've seen some original GM gear sets dated at least 5 months apart. Some service dated gear sets can be dated even further apart.
Nice gears, good price. -Matt |

How about $200 shipped anywhere to the lower 48 states?
