The story: The original carb on my friend’s ’64 365hp Corvette was giving him trouble so a local mechanic replaced it with this brand new carb. He had nothing but trouble with it loading up at idle and running very rich. We found the original carb at the mechanic’s shop and rebuilt it. Problem solved, except he’s out some coin and aggravation from the experience.
This Holley is just as it came out of the box. It has never been apart or “serviced”. It was just the wrong choice for his car.
