1970-72 Cowl Induction Cable Clips All The Same?

5 Attachment(s)
I have been doing some research on the Cowl Induction Cable Clips in the past few weeks and was interested to know if all the plants used the same 1/8 White plastic clips, also if there were any changes in 1971 or 1972 after the 1970 year.As we all know the reproduction Hood pin kits come with the large incorrect Brown clips (Bottom Photo).

Below are some photos from my archives documenting these clips.
You can see the used Original set from my car (Thrid Photo) and NOS which are identical (First and second Photos). They have a very unique 1/8 marking compared to what you find today. I did manage to finally find a pretty good match from the aftermarket world that i put a special order in from a local company here in town (Fourth Photo).

The NOS ones carry a part number of 3975343 from group 8.036 from the master parts catalogues.
I will also bring up the Cables and screws later on in this thread.
The NOS clips have been selling on ebay from $40 to over $50 recently.

I have also had a lot of emails from Team Chevelle and my Facebook Club about the actual screw that held the clips in place.
It seems as though a lot of guys got the Phillips Button Head screw that has just a touch of solid space before the thread starts and the screw goes to a point.
Below is photos of my original screw.
Do you guys have the same screw?

Danny,
Here is what I had collected some 30 years ago and to the best of my memory. The first shot is a 1/4" and a 1/8" original lanyard cable clips removed from Chevelles back in the late 70's.

The next photo is of a supposed NOS piece that I obtained MANY years ago alongside a readily available replacement hardware store for $0.03 each item. The hardware store clip is more white and not as opaque.

As far as where/how they mount, the next photo shows what I most commonly see on Chevelles for the hold down screw. Joe D's black survivor LS6 used the same screw as you showed.

The next photo is of a survivor Arlington car that I have in the shop. I have never seen this type of rivet used before on a Chevelle. The lanyards are original as is most of the car and would like to know if anyone else has seen this before.

Lastly, this is one of two ways I always see Baltimore cables attached. Sometimes clips are used while most of the other times the cable is simply mounted to the bolt.

Thanks Rick for the info.

My Friend Joe in downtown Toronto that has an Original Paint Fathom Blue LS6 car (Which i posted in my Facebook Club) also has the cables bolted down like your last photo shows in the exact same location, his car was also built in the Baltimore plant.

I am not sure about the 1/4" size as those would have a lot of play were the cables slide in but it seems the font is exactly the same as the 1/8" size, why would chevrolet use 2 different sizes though, interesting.

I have never seen a rivet to hold the cable though.

The NOS ones that come up are always the 1/8" size.
