Dash speaker rebuild for my 68 Nova
Who is everyone using to rebuild dash speakers? I have my original but think the voice coil is damaged so I don't think it can be fixed. But I think I have another. I found some aftermarket ones but the magnet is in the wrong position for the nova mounting bracket.

Speaker shop 70-80 dollars to rebuild your original plus shipping both ways.
I juast found this place (See link) that reproduces the original GM 4X10 10 ohm speaker. With the design they used you can rotate the magnet cover for multiple mounting brackets for different GM cars. I have one on order it should be here this weekend. I will post picture when I get it. Some of the speakers are misidentified, such as the one for my 72 Firebird which was oval even though they said it should be the rectangular one. (The original had never been removed from the car before it blew out, so I knew the oval was correct). |
