Re: Nazi car found
Cool story and I like how the service man disguised it to bring it home...

Re: Nazi car found
I wonder if its bulletproof. A lot of the cars that the Reich ordered in those years were armored to the teeth.

Re: Nazi car found
With respect to the true atrocities and suffering of the Nazi era, their automobiles and anything transportation related is always interesting!
About 25 years ago I recall reading how some vehicles used by Nazi officials were identified by comparing pictures that showed the doors open and matching the unique woodgrain trim w/ that of existing cars. The coolest Nazi related automobiles is the late 30's Auto Union racers, incredible drivers and machines some of which raced bearing Swastikas also great stories of their successes and ultimate fate. Here's a try at a few pics below, note the American Flag flying with the Swastika in the poster image of Berd Rosemayer winning the 1937 New York race. Re: Nazi car found
----A friend of mine, Chuck Kelly, from the Fox Lake area used to own Eva Brauns personal Mercedes 540. It could run on gas, diesel, or just about anything else that would ignite. It was all white and really had beautiful lines. He bought it from a guy named Fran Roxas who couldnt quite figure out exactly what he had. Chuck used to call it his retirement plan!........Bill S

Re: Nazi car found
What happened to those Auto Union racecars and drivers?
Is there a website that documents that? |
Re: Nazi car found
Most of the Auto Unions are in museums all over the world. After the war, Russia ended up with quite a few. Don't know what happened to those.

Re: Nazi car found
There was a Hitler car found here in Utah been quite a few years ago same basic story they needed a transmission part and called the SN in, Be nice if Chevy would have kept such good records but then we would only have a 3rd of the 69 Z28's to look at..
