Re: block numbers heads

there has to be a number in between the E and A. that would indicate the year of the engine. the A is the second run of engines, then a sequential number. i havent seen a CE motor with a regular assembly code before, but V is flint assembly plant 0204 is feb 4, im stumped on the XCD. what kind of car is it in?

Re: block numbers heads

quick internet search, general concensus is that it is a crate engine as opposed to a CE short block. thats all i could find out

Re: block numbers heads

found this on a corvette site.

3991492 was a service only casting that was machined as a replacement for all earlier big port/big valve heads, so check the casting numbers again. They could very well have been used for "LT-1 crate engines".

The "2" may just not show up or be very faint.
