Column shift auto trans linkage and bracketry.
I am having a tough time finding the correct bracketry (love that word)/linkage for a column shifted Turbo 350 1969 Nova. Does anyone have any pictures/ insight on what this linkage / bracketry looks like? I have never owned anything but powerglides and 3 on the trees.
Thanks for the help! Jed |

Here is what I used on my 70 Nova. I believe it is the same on 69 Nova or 69 Camaro with either a TH350 or TH400. D&R Camaro has the link that goes back to the shifter arm on the trans and GM had the arm I used in the trans, part number 3950176. The 3950176 is not exactly as was original since that number was original to a 69 Camaro with a floor shift, but it will work.

Ok, so it's just the bellcrank on the frame and then a rod to the shifter arm on the trans?

Re: Column shift auto trans linkage and bracketry.
You will also need the rod from the column down to the bellcrank too, but I don't have a picture of that. It is the same as on 69 Camaro column shift 350 and 400 too. My assembly manual shows GM part number 3972257. They are usually stamped with the last four numbers to identify them, sort of like on the arm pictured above.

Ok, my rod from the column to the bellcrank is 3972256. I'm good with that much. And the bellcrank number is 5290. And the rod from the bellcrank back the the trans is 9743. And I don't have the bracket that bolts onto the trans?

Re: Column shift auto trans linkage and bracketry.
All I can suggest is to look on ebay or find someone that has the correct parts laying around. I bought my bellcrank and upper rod for $30 on epay, the rod to the trans from D&R, and the trans lever from GM. My pictures are the correct parts and show the correct shapes. The numbers you listed are powerglide parts. Start by looking for a bellcrank mount that uses three bolts to hold it to the frame, the glide and stick shift only use two bolts.
