VIN on Trans

Anyone looking for their 1969 Muncie transmission? I assume the '2' indicates that its a Pontiac:

VIN: 29B175169
Date: P9E20A

Re: VIN on Trans

What is the Pontiac syntax for the full vin, thinking GTO or Firebird?

Re: VIN on Trans

Baltimore VIN, so its probably a GTO or Lemans.

That's what I needed, thanks Kevin.

Wonder if I could search the web to see if someone is looking for this trans? I always try to reunite vin'd components before using them on a project.

Re: VIN on Trans

The best way to find the original car is to incorporate the vin into the complete sequence for a Baltimore built GTO, Lemans, and Tempest. Do them both in hardtop annd convertible vins and then google the whole number. I got lucky once or twice finding the original car this way for some orpan parts.
