62 Corvette 327-340hp
As I had mentioned in the summer, I had purchased an unrestored 62 Corvette. The car has been mostly unused for a period of more than 30 years. I purchased the car from a fellow in Naperville, IL. He had owned the car since 1977. In those years, the car accumulated not even 5,000 miles.
This is a low option car. One top only(soft top delete) 327-340hp, 4 speed, radio delete. Thats about it. The car had evidence of being drag raced early on. The original traction bars are in place as are the studs from what I assume an early scattershield. The block is original, trans was replaced with a numbers matching / date coded unit, and the rear center section is from a 63 fullsize (3.70 ratio) 75% original paint, original interior, solid chassis although has scale (always a midwest car) Hope you enjoy the pics as I have recommisioning the car. http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_2177.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_2176.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_2175.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/...8/100_2174.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b437/napa68/043.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b437/napa68/042.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b437/napa68/034.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b437/napa68/035.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b437/napa68/036.jpg http://i1043.photobucket.com/albums/b437/napa68/037.jpg |
Re: 62 Corvette 327-340hp
and some more details.......what I really like about this car, is all of the little bits that are true to an original car.

Re: 62 Corvette 327-340hp
I'll have another one later. Here is a few teasers. I going to leave this one in the can for a while. This is going to get driven for a while before I embark on a resto along with my friend who did the 66 L72 car earlier this year.

Re: 62 Corvette 327-340hp
-----What a nice survivor this 62 is. And,,,white is absolutely the right color for it, IMO. Just the options that were absolutely necessary, too. I can believe the drag race part as the distributor hold-down bolt has the right wear to it. I can just see the owner getting his distributor wrench wedged in there and not quite hitting the right spot as he is waiting for the next pass while listening to the engine......Bill S
