Phoenix guys--exhaust shop needed

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone new of a reasonable shop in the Phoenix area to build an exhaust system for my 6-cylinder '69 Nova. Not finding any pre-made systems online.

Seeing as it'll be one muffler/pipe system, I can't see it costing too much overall anyway.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!

Couple month ago I did contact "Chuck's Speed and RV Center" regarding engine stuff. There were pretty nice and gave me good advice.

I'm sure they can help you out.

I highly recommend Gila Muffler its on the east side of Mesa.
Skip is the owner, his cp is 928-701-5202 Shop 480-984-4570.

They have done several camaros for me and everyone I have sent there has been very happy. They are used to doing these cars and are very careful, not to mention very reasonable. Tell him I sent you there.

Thanks guys. I have also found out that Waldron's exhaust remakes the 6-cyl systems for the Nova. Not bad at $280, but I think shipping is going to run me about $140.

So not sure if it'd be better to have it made up or just purchase it and install myself.

I'd get it made...that way, if you have any issues, you can go back to the shop!

Have you called Skip at Gila muffler? Well worth the drive across town, I'm betting he will do it for less than $280. Just get pics and specs of the the system you are considering buying and he can manufacture it. The last system I had installed there was for a 69 396 Camaro and I think I was out the door for $250. They back their work, and the crew there loves musclecars. You save money, you keep local guys employed, don't waste money on shipping, and you can take it back if there is an issue. What's the downside? If you haven't at least called them then why did you ask for recommendations in the local area?

I haven't called yet. I plan on it though. Been busy travelling so haven't had the time to call.

I was thinking of ordering it because I'll have to flatbed the car in to do something I could do myself, that's why . However, if it's as low as you say it is, that is still much cheaper than the order + shipping. I thought it'd be over $400 for them to do it.

Thanks for the recommendation.

Dave, I gave Skip a call finally (finally close to getting the car on the road). Seems like a good guy to work with. Great deal too--gave me a quote for about $200, so looks like it's going to work out well. Thanks again. If you see a semi-rusty green Nova driving around town thin the next couple weeks, that's me. haha.

Monroe or any of those type shops can't help you? Can't believe that would be that hard. How about Pep Boys?
