427 Caprice lead
Got a lead yesterday on a 427 Caprice. A friend of mine already bought the engine and trans from this failed resto project. How do I identify what HP engine it is as the air cleaner is currently missing? I'm hoping to see the car later this week.

Re: 427 Caprice lead
There are 18 '69 B-body 427 engine codes.
It was most likely a 335hp TH400 [LE, LJ] could be 390hp [LC, LI]. This assumes it is the original engine. After 42 years it may not be. |

Missed ya this year. And condolences to your family per your recent Moparts post. |
Re: 427 Caprice lead
Gonna hopefully go look at it tomorrow. What I need is info on what numbers to look for and where there are.

Re: 427 Caprice lead now w/ pics!
Finally got down to see it today. Is a major resto project. First 427 I've been this close to.
I see I can't add photo's w/o having them on-line somewhere. Anyone want them e-mailed to them? Hit me at lon at seigworthroadsupply dot com |
