Best protective wax or coating for cadmium plated
What are you all using to keep you cad parts looking like new?
Need something that hay and shaft won't stick to...don't ask. Thanks |
Re: Best protective wax or coating for cadmium plated
I use a spray on protective coating called Fluid Film. Spray and wipe off excess. Don"t think hay will stick to it, not sure about the schaft.

Re: Best protective wax or coating for cadmium plated
Krown makes a great protective coating also. Its sold in Canada and is used on farm equipment and vehicle undercarriages. I also used it to soften the rattle can undercoat on a '70 Trans am, it worked great.

How about Boeshield T-9?
|
Re: Best protective wax or coating for cadmium plated
My limited experience with Boeshield; it remains slightly tacky. Might attract/hold the chaff.
Not complaining, mind you. I love the stuff, but it might not be the answer for this application. |
Re: Best protective wax or coating for cadmium plated
Best way to spray Boeshield is to spray it on and let the solvents evaporate (1/2 to 1 hour depending on temperature and humidity) and then take a clean cloth and gently wipe the excess wax off. I have done this for years and it does not leave a film this way and wont attract dirt/dust.
