Trim Parts Hood Moulding & Emblem 1969 Nova?
I have a couple of repro front (leading edge) hood moldings along with a repro emblem for my Nova. The hood mouldings I acquired from a couple of different vendors ended up being the same - unwrapped they're in Corvex packaging. They leave a wee bit to be desired... , The no-name emblem is actually physically smaller than the original
The original moulding can be repaired I guess (it has a couple of stone bruises), while I'm pretty sure I can detail the emblem. I'm wondering though, if any of you have experience with these pieces from Trim Parts (I've used some of their other pieces and they were, for the most part very nice)? Thoughts? Wayne |

It has been my experience that if it says Corvex, you may want to try very hard to use the original piece.
I have someone who probably can fix your old piece if you want to send it out to me. JMHO. |

Thanks man...and L-O-L.
The Corvex piece is, uh, amongst other things short a couple of mount studs. I have a guy here who can fix 'em. I was hoping the Trim Parts pieces were nice. WS |
Re: Trim Parts Hood Moulding & Emblem 1969 Nova?
FWIW, the NOS ones from GM are also missing 2 mounting studs - and the studs they do have are incorrect. That is why we try to use/find the originals, when we can't we will buy an NOS one and modify it. We don't buy Corvex stuff though.

Re: Trim Parts Hood Moulding & Emblem 1969 Nova?
I put Trim Parts hood molding and emblem on my '71, fit quite niceley, although it was missing the two inner mounting studs on the hood molding, not sure if they are all like that or not, but a quick call to them and I had 2 on my doorstep within a couple of days.
Their parts are top notch, as is their service, I wouldnt hesitate to reccomend them to anyone. I dd have a good mark hood on my car, but that also seemed of good quality as well. Trim Parts stands behind their products 100%, and I think you will know why when you receive the parts. |

Since you brought up the Goodmark hoods, does the lower lip of the hood extend out beyond the lip molding? I saw some that do, and was wondering if they fixed that tolerance or not.

</div></div> Oh I've use pieces from the them before with good results. If I'm not mistaken though, others have found some inconsistencies. In this case, I've decided it's best to have the molding picked and filed. I have only two pieces of trim that need work (the rest are perfect), but I may as well have 'em all stripped, polished and sealed (or re-anodized). Thanks for the input. Wayne |
