Really? We don't have them all, just some. Do you need to verify something, or a particular one, or....

Re: 69 Yenko Chevelle VINs

I've found a fremont, CA built 69 chevelle in a barn with yenko vinyl on it. Think it supposed to be orange, looks faded red to me. Won at estate auction. Widow believed it had been sitting since 1980 or 82, no papers other than title. No engine with it and have yet to find the build sheet, but still have a few pieces to pull off. In bad shape, but you can see where the vinyl was and still make out some letters.
VIN 136379z321003
Going to fix it up either way, just want to know before dropping a 427 or 396 into it.
Will list cowl codes when I get home.

It may be worth checking what the stamped code on the rear axle tube is before posting the cowl tag info?.

Welcome aboard!.

Re: 69 Yenko Chevelle VINs

Thanks for the vin info. I see two potential issues:

1. The plant designator of 'Z' is not typical of Yenko Chevelles, as most / all of them were 'B' for the Baltimore plant.

2. The VIN you've listed is very early compared to the run of Yenko Chevelles. The earliest one we've got is a 347xxx number (and could very well be a notation error from DMM) - well after the 342xxx's. Not to say it's impossible, but unlikely since we have ~96 of the 99 Yenko Chevelle VINS.

Keep doing your research, and let us know what you find - could always be something special and/or different.

Re: 69 Yenko Chevelle VINs

Did the Yenko Chevelles start life as L72 cars like the Camaros? I read that Yenko Novas started as 396 cars and were converted to 427. Is this correct?
Thanks and much appreciated

Re: 69 Yenko Chevelle VINs

Yenko Chevelles used COPO process to put L72s in at the factory just like Yenko Camaros.

Re: 69 Yenko Chevelle VINs

There was a COPO Z341864 advertised some time ago on the internet. The COPO Chevelles came from the factory with either the MP code automatic 427 or the MQ code version with the four speed, M20, M21, or M22. They also had the special KQ 4.10 rearend. There is some cowl tag info as well. With so many fraudsters out there, owners of real COPO cars aren't generally to free with the information unless you can show that you have a real car. No point in making it easier for the criminal element.
