Muncie transmission tail housing question.

I know that in February of 1965, Chevrolet switched to the 584 passenger side speedometer tail housing. Did this switch happen throughout the entire GM lineup? Pontiac, Olds, and Buick? I have always been curious. Any information would be great

Re: Muncie transmission tail housing question.

Pontiac A-Body's used the 429 tail housing(driverside speedo) thru the end of the 1970 model year...
Hope this helps... Crash

Was this the only GM lineup to use the 429 tail shaft until 1970?

The change to the 584 tailhousing occurred in August, 1964 on the Corvette (1965 start of production).
