POWER TOUR ...... Who's going?
 

Hot Rod Power Tour kicks off in Newton Iowa next Saturday, June 5th. They leave Iowa Sunday morning headed to Springfield, IL, ..... then on to DuQuoin, Bowling Green, KY, Chattanooga, TN, Birmingham, AL and concluding at Mobile, AL.

Just wondering who is planning to do all or part of the tour, and more importantly, .... who's gonna be in Springfield on Sunday afternoon. Doesn't matter if you're a part of the tour; just wondering who is gonna be around so we can know who to look for.

And as a side note, the OFFICIAL TOUR ROUTE from Newton to Springfield will take you right past Rick Nelson's shop at the West edge of Pleasant Plains, IL. I think Rick said they're having a banner made so be on the look-out as you enter town. They're on your left (North)across from the huge metal Grain Bins. When you go past Rick and Annie's place be sure to wave, honk or throw some cash!!!! (I'll be there later to sweep up. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/naughty.gif[/img])

Annie and I will have the shop open on Sunday with some cars on display as well as some of our latest projects. Look for them and the banner out front, pull in and stop for a moment and say hi. I talked to the owner of the Grainery Bar and Grill across the street and they will have beer, pop and grilled items available and we will have what ever is left over from our open house. Might as well get it while you can as it will be very hard to get a place to eat in town. We look forward to seeing every one.

The Newton, IA Chamber of Commerce had a unofficial pre-party event Fri. evening at the towncenter. Early arrivals were encouraged to attend. Drove out to catch some of the cars this evening as it sounded like Sat. might be wet at the Race Track. Some pics below.....a little bit of everything. Some others were meeting at a local bar/restaurant but I didn't make it there.

I drove Fonzie up Sat. Got there in time to walk a mile and one half to the tower area . Just to see Jackass. Nice Car.
I did talk to the owner too. Spent most the time Crumby.
Had a good time. 5 to 10,000 cars 30,000 people!!

It's Wednesday afternoon and not one update this week - I was looking forward to some cool pictures and commentary about how things were going - not just for Ken but anyone else on the road. [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/grin.gif[/img]
