center drag link

I am looking at 2 nos center drag links supposedly for a 69 z28. The part numbers are 3958493 and 3953221. Does anyone know if one of theses is correct?

John, for these kind of things I would go over to CRG Camaro Research Group. Mr. 70, Tommy Mathison or Johnny Karvonen may have those numbers on the top of their heads. Call Johnny K. (906)337-3928. These guys are all members here and very knowledgable. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif

I've had both of these sitting on a shelf here for many years & recently sold em at a swapmeet in February.
I think the #3958493 is the relay rod you want,as it came specifically on 1968-9 302cid.Camaro.
#3953221 was installed on ALL other 1967-69 Camaro w/o 302cid.& ALL 1968-74 Nova.

Re: center drag link

The Z/28 didn't use the #221...but the other 69 Camaro models did.
'68 Z's started to come with the #589.Sometime during late '68/early 69 camaro production,the #493 came out.
That link was being incorporated much sooner then July of '71,and especially on th 69 Z,which was assembled well into 1970 production.
The parts books were usually slower at reporting what was actually taking place on the line.

In 69, model didn't matter. It was based on PS or not.
