Street Racing
 

Here in Canada we have a law that says that if you are going 50+kilometers over the speed limit, you are street racing. It nets some unusual catches.

I saw that too Keith but smell a rat as I'm pretty sure I read last year about a female police officer that was charged after being stopped driving a ghost car yet they're saying this is the 1'st cop charged?.

Did you catch the story of the trash-truck they nailed 'street racing' when the law came on a couple years back?.

How 'bout the grandmother that they charged w/ 'stunt racing'!.
I believe the original article I read said after charging her and towing her car they left her at the side of the hiway!.

We came back home via highway 7 from Perth on Thursday. We counted six police cars. There was also a motor cycle cop with his helmet off and a laser unit. He was pointing it the other way. I saw him from quite a ways back and didn't realize he was a cop until I saw what he was doing. He just looked like a biker having a rest on the side of the highway. That highway has very few straight stretches and you have to go like hell when you do get the chance to pass. There have been quite a few bad accidents on that road and I can see why it is policed so heavily, but I also think that it is easy pickings to fill the book for the month. The law is a bit of an ass and overkill too. You do have to be careful and it is pretty obvious when you are 30 mph over the speed limit.
