GM Part # Help

I recently acquired an NOS molding Part #7737902. The molding is in a sealed GM paper wrapper, so I didn't want to open it. It feels like a stainless molding with a window fuzzie attached. Does anyone have an idea what this molding is and what it is for?

Left (door or quarter) with the WIDE stainless trim.
