Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
Is E60-15 correct size for this application?

Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
70 and up Z28's used F60x15 tires...the wheel appears to be correct, but the tire is not for a second gen Z28.

Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
Could the wheel/tire combo be from 1971-72 SS Chevelle??? Crash
|
Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
No 71-72 SS Chevelle used F60 15 as did 70-74 Z28 Camaro.

Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
I think there was some early 70's Challengers or possibly Cudas that used E60 15.

Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
That tire is earlier than a 74 z/28. The 74 z came with Firestone Wide Oval 60's. What is the date stamped on the rim around the valve stem?
|
Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
that has the wide valve stem opening so it is NOT for a 70 Camaro Z28, plus the color is wrong for the 70 anyway

Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
Not all 70 Z28s had the narrow valve opening, only the early ones did (a set sold on EBAY last month for about $1100), that is why finding them is like hens teeth. As for the color, I would not judge it based on a flash photo. Lastly, the tire (E60-15) is not for any 70-74 Chevy, so unless you are looking for a certain date code for some other brand (Ford, Mopar) the date code is not relevent.

Re: 1970-74??? Z-28 spare tire
my 1970 July built Van Nuys car has the narrow openings ...
maybe it was a plant thing |
