I'm no expert, but I do not see any broach marks on that engine pad.

Re: 1970 L78 Chevelle
You know I cant sit idly by and not say anything about this car. I know this car intimately.
I know this car was restored with the best nos parts and the workmanship was second to none. The car now represents what GM put together right down to the original fueline bracket. It certainly is a great looking 70 L78. PJ |

Now it sounds as if your original post was intended to help the seller move the car. It could just be me but I'm confused as to the intention of your comments! |
Re: 1970 L78 Chevelle
Definitely a bit deceiving. "My friend is selling this car" would have been a better intro. I'm done.

I don't know this new member or car personally, but maybe someone who's interested should contact him & ask some detailed questions.
Find out what made him state this in the earlier linked topic.. By mixedbreed:[ QUOTE ] not only is the engine pad stamped incorrectly but the transmission is also a re-stamp. this car has a bad reputation in the greater toronto area as being a re-bodied car and re-framed car as well when it was owned by the guy that had it before this owner. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...thumbsdown.gif [/ QUOTE ] |

[/ QUOTE ] my intention was to point out that the $72000. that was bid for the car a L78 was cheap in my opinion. I have no interest in the car or no intention of promoting this car under any cicumstances nor am I interested in promoting the car to anyone The reason I say that because these cars are as rare as hens teeth and the restoration was second to none as I have seen this car up close many times..I do not want to get involved with the personalities involved and politics.Just the restoration of the car. Re: 1970 L78 Chevelle
72k cheap for a L78 car?? Thats huge money to me in the current market. I think that car would have had a hard time bringing that a couple of years ago especially with the problems the car has. They are rare but have never seemed to bring the big dough. IMO
