Temp gauge going up with RPM?
Bad ground? Seems my temp gauge goes up when the RPMs are up but when I go back to idle it appears normal.

Re: Temp gauge going up with RPM?
It means you're driving a Mopar. They all do that. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/grin.gif
If it's not a Mopar, you probably need a better ground from the block to firewall and block to subframe. Also the voltage limiter in the dash may be bad (I know Mopars use one, don't know about GM, though) (This is one of the reasons I went to a SW mechanical temp gauge with a capillary tube on my Charger. While the mech gauge reads 165 degrees at full warmup and cruising, the factory electrical dash gauge says 200+ and rising...til I stop at a light and it drops back down.) |
Re: Temp gauge going up with RPM?
I wonder if something came loose behind the dash when I restored it a few months ago. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...mlins/hmmm.gif
And, call it strange but I don't have any ground straps on my 70 as I do on the 60. The dimples are not pierced. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif |
Re: Temp gauge going up with RPM?
Not sure its a grounding problem cause I did some experiments and the ground didn't work. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif
