Not an MQ but I have a 2-bolt 323 cast June 1967.

I have owned two cars with May 15th cast blocks, one was built 6/30 and other 7/06. I also know of another E15 cast L78 323 block. That's the earliest I have seen.

Interesting considering that Al Colvin's by the numbers states that the 323 block wasn't released until June of 67.

As a side note:
He also states that it is possible that some late 67 may have had 323 blocks, but then goes on to say that it would be highly unlikely and mentions that no 67 to date has been verified to have a 323 block.

I was going from memory and just checked my records and all three blocks were cast F (June) 8th of 1967. I believe in Colvin's later addition of by the #'s he modified that statement to say that some late 67 cars in fact came with the 323 block. BTW two cars were built 7C and one 7B.

Hard to fake a casting date and the fact that the block is machined for a canister filter. Clearly Mr. Colvin's research was incomplete at the time of that statement.

He may have changed his initial position...The book I referenced was his first edition.

The aug cast 323 block that I made reference to was from a 68 L78 Camaro with a 02B TT date. I looked at that car with the intent to purchase but backed out because of the discrepancy between cast date and stamp pad date.
The stamp date was jan 68. After I backed out of the deal, I later read that up to 8 month difference in cast vs pad dates were not that uncommon due to strikes in 1968...?

What are the odds that the car had its original block considering the time difference between cast and stamp dates? The pad looked real

That is a large span, I once had a untouched '71 LS5 engine that had a long span like that between cast and build, if I recall correctly for the same reason, some sort of strike going on at the time.
