Uniroyal Tiger Paw Date Code Question
I have two Uniroyal Tiger Paw F70-14 white stripe tires with the date code H0730T . Can anyone tell me what date that translates to? These tires *supposedly* came on a 68 Camaro SS396. TIA https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/worship.gif

Re: Uniroyal Tiger Paw Date Code Question
The DOT-mandated standard format for the TIN (Tire Identification Number) didn't start until May, 1971, and that's not the DOT format on those tires, so they were made prior to 1971. I'm not aware of a source for the pre-1971 Uniroyal-proprietary decode info.

Re: Uniroyal Tiger Paw Date Code Question
John,
Thanks so much for that info. It appears I was not deceived then when I purchased these several years ago, and was told they were original tires from a 68 Camaro SS396. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...d/100_1311.jpg I submitted this same question to Uniroyal....we will see what (if any) answer I receive from them https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif |

I submitted this same question to Uniroyal....we will see what (if any) answer I receive from them https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/crazy.gif [/ QUOTE ] I'm pleasantly surprised to have received an answer from Michelin/Uniroyal already this morning. They say those tires were manufactured in August 1967, so the person who sold me the tires was very truthful https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...iggthumpup.gif But, since the sidewall design is slightly different than the original ones for my car, I guess they will be seeking a new home. |
Re: Uniroyal Tiger Paw Date Code Question
Wow, that's cool they responded Bill. Now if you only could have convinced them to start making the bias-ply Tiger Paws again.... https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...ns/naughty.gif

When you think of all the different brands of vintage tires that are reproduced....Firestone, Goodyear, BFG Silvertowns, US Royals....the Uniroyals are conspicuous by their absence https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/frown.gif |
