LS-7 crate engine

Can anyone give me any info on this engine. I know of one which runs but needs rebuilt. I am interested in it but am unsure of what it's worth. I'd like to make an offer on it. It is complete and painted factory? black with a GM "off road use only" tag taped on valve cover, dated 1973. I have no numbers but can probably get them in the next few days.
Thank You

memory is a little fuzzy, but this is what I recall the
LS-7 was $5500 bucks back then into the 80's until gone, mint in the crate seem to bring the same money today, suppose to be a 12.5:1 motor making 550 hp just slap on a 800 double pumper holley and go.

depends on what that one looks like inside of it. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/beers.gif

Adding up what it would take to build one today from available used high perf parts and you're north of $3K pretty quickly, especially considering all the little parts and tin. That's where I'd start for value and hope I could get it for that ballpark or less. After they discontinued the MK IV LS-6 and 7 crate engines, I bought one-over-the-counter in pieces and it wasn't cheap, even with the good-guy discount!

Good luck, BCD.

Thanks a lot for the info. I'm still unsure if he will part with it but, I don't want to pass up an opportunity like that.
