installing engine in my 69Z
Will I have any problems installing the engine in my Z if the fan, alternator and bell housing are on? I will remove the radiatior for more room.
Thanks, John |
Re: installing engine in my 69Z
ive installed the motor and trans when it was bolted together many times..you really have to tilt it though...I have one of them motor tilters to go with my engine hoist...it really helps...but it would probably be worth it to unbolt the fan and alternator and install after the motor is in...I assume you are gonna put the trans in later?? It is probably easier to bolt the trans up now..imho

For the few minutes it takes I would remove the front items from the motor before you install it. You would surprised what can be nicked up with the motor on a hoist while it goes in the car. At the least remove the fan to not take a chance of nicking or bending a blade.

If you are running headers at minimum have the LH header positioned in the car first. RH is usually no problem but why not do both?
