Another BW Camaro
1 Attachment(s)
I have looked at this site for a while and always thought it was beneficial. Here is a car i just worked a sweatheart deal from my uncle. It is certified from Joel in 2000 as a Phase III. 20K original miles. Too fun to drive, but will be asking people questions in the future, so good to at least introduce myself.

Re: Another BW Camaro
Here is the history from what i can remember that my uncle has told me. I should get him on here to verify, i am sure his story would be better than mine, but here i go....
The car was sold in 3-31-69, at least this is the build sheet or bill of lading shows, not up to terms 100% as to what is what, but it was bought by a person in Elyria, OH by a younger person that possibly put it in his mothers name. I have the original pop, and this is a guess by me since the last names are the same one the pop and build sheet, but first names are different. Supposivly the younger person died, she kept the car for some time in which a dealer found it and bought it. This person mainly dealt with rolls, bently, etc and did not want to keep it. He put it in hemmings around 1983 as just a 427 camaro. At that time it had around 8K miles a believe. My uncle knew that if this was a true 427, possibly there was something special about it. Long story short, he bought it, but the dealer did not say that it was a BM for sure. Which is rare these days being honest since there are so many clones etc passing as the real deal. My uncle was a car nut and basically kept it and showed it locally for a while. I have always been into cars, so he let work something out that will keep the car in the family. He (my uncle) had it certified by Joel in 2000 and i have the certificate of authenticity. It is the original paint color and original paint on 95% of the car. Black is a pretty color, but a pain to keep clean. From what i can read and decifer from the build sheet, the following was done G5 427 conversion (PHIII) hurst w/ T handle air lifts wood wheel side exhaust PHIII striping tap cat kit inglewood tires radius rear fenderwall ignition package high rpm shutoff M22 trans hurst shifter traction bars dual fuel pump stinger hood It does have the RS/SS package, with consol there might be more, but i came from a firebird backgound so there is much to learn! |
